The Home Team Annual Conference is your opportunity to connect, recharge, and grow. You'll gain insight from professionals and experienced spouses and partners of first responders who truly understand the unique challenges you face—things that others may sympathize with, but can’t fully grasp. We're here to walk alongside you, offering support, encouragement, and real-life wisdom for the journey ahead.

About the Conference

Guest Speaker Tracy Sandor, MA MFT, LPC
Tracy Sandor, MA MFT, LPC, It’s Just Therapy
Tracy is a Licensed Professional Counselor whose practice, It’s Just Therapy, was created
to serve public safety professionals. She is passional in her work with individuals, couples,
and families to mitigate the impact of first responder careers on her clients’ daily lives and
relationships. Tracy also provides training and supervision to student-intern and associate
counselors looking to serve first responder, working towards the goal of increasing the
number of culturally competent clinicians. Through her work with Responder Life, Tracy
conducts debriefings for departments following critical incidents and offers training and
clinical support to Peer Support Teams. Tracy has volunteered since 2014 as a clinician at the
West Coast Post-Trauma Retreat, serving first responders in a week-long residential setting to
heal and create positive changes in their lives. She has a BA in Education from Oregon State,
a MA in Marriage, Couple and Family Counseling, and a Trauma Response Certificate from
George Fox University. Tracy is trained in EMDR and Brain Spotting and is a HeartMath Certified
Practitioner and Certified Safe and Sound Protocol provider.

Guest Speaker Julie Lerwick, PhD, LPC, LMHC, NCC, RPT
Dr. Julie Lerwick holds a Ph.D. in Counseling from Oregon State University and is a Nationally
Certified (NCC) Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC-OR / LMHC-WA) and Registered Play
Therapist (RPT). Her research, conducted at Oregon Health & Science University Department of
Neurological Surgery, was in pre-operative anxiety reduction using a play therapy intervention.
Aligning with her research interest, Dr. Lerwick is a published author in medical journals on the
subject of psychosocial aspects of pediatric healthcare. Believing strongly in social justice to
children, she volunteers her time providing services to children undergoing chemotherapy
treatment, creates pediatric psychosocial interventions for mission organizations, and trains
healthcare professionals and First Responders to address the psychosocial needs of children.
Further, she served as former President and Vice President of the Oregon Association for Play
therapy. Dr. Lerwick maintains a clinical practice at a large medical system in Portland, Oregon
and leads the healers of tomorrow as a professor of clinical mental health counseling.
